I
believe this is a positive trend. I am working hard to expand my own knowledge
of the art of growing food for myself and for my work. Over the years
I have incorporated veggie plots into landscape plans when they were requested,
but now I am often asked to make them larger, more attractive and work
out various climbing structures, rotation options, etc. Increasingly now,
added to the vegetable garden layout, are tool sheds, chicken coops, rain
barrels and spaces for bees. We are just beginning to see where these
possibilities are going.
As those of us in the Sandhills know, growing here is challenging enough.
In order to successfully grow vegetables, we have to massively improve
the soil and find economical, wise ways of watering it.
At Lotus Designs, we are constantly seeking to educate ourselves on the
latest trends and services so that we can better serve our customers.
I look forward to working with clients in helping them achieve successful
garden spaces that will not only add to their outdoor enjoyment but their
table as
well.
